The recipes that I post here are all my go to recipes for baking and so far have never let me down. All of them are really easy and some of the flavors can be switched out with others. Also all the ingredients I use are readily available at any supermarket and affordable.
I have two different recipes for yellow cake, I have different reasons why I have two since each are so different. It mostly depends on taste preference for picking the one you would like to use, but there are a couple of other reasons as well. If you don’t like the flavor of butter in your cake, then the one with shortening is for you. However, if you don’t like using butter to cook with, but like the flavor then you can use a butter flavoring along with the vanilla extract. I prefer the recipe with butter when I am making a cake, simply because I like the flavor better and I like how moist the cake stays. If I am making cake pops with yellow cake I like to use the recipe that calls for shortening, because it doesn’t have as much moisture and isn’t as sweet as the other, which I like since the cake is being mixed with frosting and coated with chocolate. Also before turning away from shortening or if you have never tried it before you should, it makes a really great tasting cake, plus shortening is just made out of vegetable oil. So what is the different between that and using regular vegetable oil in cake? 🙂
